Habanos National Company was established in 2011 after the liberalization of the tobacco sector in the Kingdom of Morocco, which is regulated by Law 2/46 with a 100% Moroccan capital , the President and General Manager Moulay Omar Zahraoui,
The National Habanos Company has manufactured and cultivated tobacco in the north of the Kingdom of Morocco, bringing in experts who are specialized in cigar tobacco from many leading countries, such as Dominican Republic, Germany and France, as it signed contracts with farmers in the north of the Kingdom of Morocco and provided them with seeds, technical support and machines, as it worked to follow up their work at all the stages of production, especially that this is the first time that the Moroccan farmers practise this type of agriculture and that it has been a great success, within the framework of the Green Morocco Plan, knowing that the length of the cigar plant exceeds 2,40 meters, surpassing the 1,50 meter found in countries of Latin America, which is a pioneer of the cigar Industry, what makes Habanos National Company aspires to become a global leader in the export of the cigar, which will bring the hard currency to the Kingdom.
To translate its ambition on the ground, the National Habanos Company organized in 2019 the first exhibition of cigar in Africa to introduce the quality of the national product and its ability to compete globally and break the monopoly of the countries of Latin American. This site was known for great success and wide turnout, as it left good reputation on its customers and all visitors, which made Habanos National Company prepare for its second exhibition that will take place on 18, 19 and 20 of December 2020
The National Habanos Company thanks Mr. Ibrahim Benmoussa, the former Morocco ambassador to the Dominican Republic, for all the assistance and efforts he undertook, expressing his national sense and his support for Moroccan investment, as he provided Habanos National Company with all the means and assistance needed. The company would like to thank also the Ministerial Committee that oversees the application of the manufactured tobacco law for its support provided for the National Habanos Company and for doing their best to properly implement the Law 46.02
Habanos National Company confirms that the climate of agriculture or the investment conditions are all factors that contribute to the success of this national industry and help in making its way towards global leadership and making it a role model for the Moroccan company ability to make a successful investment that provides job opportunities for the labor force and brings the hard currency, implementing the high directives of His Majesty, may God assist Him, the designer of the Green Plan.
