Title: Green Hydrogen and the Role of Youth in Achieving Sustainable Development.

 

As environmental challenges and climate change increase, the search for clean energy sources has become an urgent necessity (United Nations Environment Programme, 2022). Green hydrogen is one of the most important future energy solutions because it is produced by using water electrolysis powered by solar energy or wind energy. This process greatly reduces carbon emissions (International Renewable Energy Agency, 2023). Young people are an important force for change through innovation and community participation with raising awareness about the importance of moving toward sustainable energy.

 

The Importance of Green Hydrogen in Egypt:

 

Egypt has great potential in solar energy and wind energy, that makes it an ideal place for developing green hydrogen (New and Renewable Energy Authority, 2023). The use of that type of energy helps reduce emissions and creates new economic and industrial opportunities. and It supports the Sustainable Development Goals Like providing clean energy, creating job opportunities and encouraging local innovation (World Bank, 2022).

 

The Role of Young People in the Transition to Clean Energy:

 

Young people are the backbone of any sustainable transition. They can participate in several areas:

 

* Scientific and Technological Innovation: Developing small projects to produce green hydrogen by using renewable energy or creating local solutions for energy storage and efficient use.

* Community Awareness: Organizing digital campaigns and educational workshops to introduce people to the benefits of green hydrogen and clean energy and encouraging the wise use of resources.

* Practical Initiatives: Applying sustainable ideas Like recycling waste, smart farming and using renewable energy in schools and local communities.

 

Challenges and Opportunities:

 

Despite its great potential, Egypt faces challenges Like a lack of renewable energy infrastructure, the need for funding for youth projects and the need for specialized training in clean energy fields (World Bank, 2022). these challenges also create opportunities for innovation. Small pilot projects can be carried out, educational models can be developed and community participation in the field of green hydrogen can be encouraged (International Renewable Energy Agency, 2023).

 

Recommendations for Young People and Society:

 

* Strengthen practical education about clean energy in schools and universities.

* Encourage scientific competitions and initiatives for producing green hydrogen.

* Support digital awareness campaigns about sustainable energy and its impact on society and the economy.

* Cooperate with government organizations and research institutions to provide a suitable environment for youth innovation.

Green hydrogen represents the future of clean energy and young people are the main driving force behind this transition. Through innovation, practical initiatives and continuous awareness, Egypt can become a leading example in adopting sustainable energy. Supporting young people and providing them with the necessary resources will help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and build a more aware and sustainable society for future generations, too.
